PROTECT OUR HARMONY WITH INTERFAITH RELIGION DIALOGS

Living in our beloved country with multi races has teaches us to be tolerate in reconciliation and staying strong together.

Somehow today, it is so heartbreaking to witness situation when religion always been manipulated in the name of imparting the ‘right’. Observation from a student from Singaporean University had shown that Malaysia is at the struggles of achieving interfaith harmony.

The diversity of Malaysia is a privilege that we should celebrate even though with different faiths and religions, said Dr. Ayang Utriza Yakin, one of the panelists at an interfaith dialogue titled "Harmony in Diversity, a Human Rights Based Approach" last December.

"The reality of diversity is something we should celebrate. Joy and harmony can only exist in a plural society, and for this, we need to value human rights," said Dr. Ayang more during the discussion.

This entire time, we have stand together through high and low. Despite calamities that confronted by our airlines last year, we are still bound together to get through the days.

It is undeniable that sometimes we are tend to make mistakes but that doesn’t indicate that we can’t redress the problems back. As a sayings that goes, ‘the best teacher is a mistake’, any vices definitely can become virtues if we just believe in positive changes.

We as Malaysian has proved it. According to The Guardian, our management when MH17 incident occurred is perceived much better compared to our previous handling when MH370 strikes.

With the world economic is unpredictable in term of expectation, nevertheless Malaysia has succeeded in improving its economy. Our Prime Minister has managed to boost our economy with The World Bank has placed Malaysia at the 18th place out of 189 economies of Doing Business 2015 Ranking. http://www.worldbank.org/en/country/malaysia/overview

If we can elevate and improve our perception and productivity when facing tragedy and crisis, then there is no doubt that unity and harmony can be crafted and reaffirm to promote long-lasting harmony in Malaysia.

We live on the basis of our federal constitution that ensure every Malaysian possess the equal rights regardless religion adherence and races. There is no dire need to feel threaten and terrified on others religion that centered based on irrational reasons.

Regular and sensible communication should always been uphold to safeguard the harmony and unity between races. Interfaith religion dialogs is crucial to address sensible acceptance between each other religion.

Head of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur Archbishop Julian Leow said during the UN Human Rights Week last December, interfaith dialogues were the solution to understand other faiths and to resolve religions issues.

"If I know each other's sensitivities, I can be careful of how I project and profess my faith. It does not mean I stop professing my faith, but it means I understand and be sensitive to the feelings of others," said Leow more during the panel discussion held.

As a third year Communication student, Wan Amira Hazwani feel the dire need to have such kind of dialogues in the society.

“It is important to acknowledge the correct understanding and help to avoid any disputes that could probably occur from misinterpretation of other religions” said Wan Amira more.

Therefore it is undeniable the urgency of having regular interfaith religion dialogues between us in order to promote and uphold the amity and harmony interreligious relation.
